Sex

The representation of the population by sex was slightly in favour of females, whose share was 50.7%. Males and females contributed unequally to the 0.8% increase in the total population since the last Census in 2011, with a 1.5% increase in the number of males and only a 0.2% increase in the number of females.

In all regions of the Czech Republic, females made up more than half of the population. Their representation was highest in the Capital City of Prague with 51.3% and above average in most regions in Moravia. On the other hand, the regions with the lowest proportion of females at 50.3% were Vysočina and Plzeňský regions, and females were also  less represented in Středočeský and Pardubický regions.
